Backpacking through europe?

me and my sis are looking to spend about 3 weeks in spain, france, england, scotland, and ireland. any advice on anything? costs, hostels, important things to see, what to bring?
Best advice I can give you is pack extremely light! Don't bring jewlery. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. Bring only one pair of jeans, they are too heavy to pack around more than one pair. There is bar laundry soap so you can wash undies etc... and hang to dry over night. You will be sooooo happy that you packed light. No blowdryers or curling irons. Bring a baseball cap, it takes care of bad hair days. Bring nothing that you can't part with and be sure to have a travel pouch that you carry your passport money etc... inside of your shirt. It hangs on a string around your neck. Make a photo copy of all your travel documents - plane ticket, passport etc... leave the copy at home incase you lose the originals while traveling. Last but not least, get travel insurance. It is well worth it!
