Bringing in a car from Russia for 6 months???

I want to bring my car from Russia to drive it in UK for 6-8 months while Im studying. I am hoping to shipping it to Germany and then driving to UK. Are there any hidden charges? Any special documents needed to produce before I enter the UK? Also does anyone know if I need visas for every single country that I am going to cross in my car? Thanx.
I know that 6 months is the limit, after which time you have to pay import taxes; but I don't know if that's for cars from EU countries only, and whether for your case there are stricter rules.

I see more problems with the general idea of bringing a Russian car into the EU [in this case, Germany] and back!
First of all, I don't even want to know how much you have to bribe Russian custom officials or border police to not hold your car up for weeks - but you might be the better judge on that.
Secondly, I wouldn't be surprised if our nit-picking German custom officials would declare your car "not road safe", because it doesn't fulfil some small technical requirement or other.
Third - isn't shipping the car around and taking the ferry and everything much much more expensive than simply buying and re-selling some cheap old car in Britain? Or simply renting one from a car rental service from time to time? [you'd need to get an additional "international dirver's licence" at home for that; plus some car rental firms don't rent to people under a certain age (21, or 25, etc.) or charge extra for that]

I'm not sure about your visa question either.
