We are travelling to Frankfurt for the xmas markets and want to stay in a decent hotel, within walking distance from the markets yet not too far away from Hann airport as every hotel we have looked at seems to be closer to the city airport
Hahn-airport is not really Frankfurt - it's a former US airbase and about 100 km (as the crow flies) away! What you call "city airport" is actually Frankfurt / Main international airport (FRA), one of the largest airports in the world, and only that one is close to the city.
