Get in contact with relatives from Croatia?

I'm Croatian from my dad he's 100% and he says our family was from spilt. I searched various websites of our last name and nothing ever shows up. My dad said our last name might have been changed when my grandpa came but never had much of a relationship with him and he's ded now. So, i was just curious to find out where we're from and if we have some relatives in Croatia.
My family is also from Croatia.

The answerer above is right, if you go everyone knows somebody. Many people can tell by your last name exactly what region you come from. If you just go and ask around you'll be sure to get some leads.

Our surname also changed during immigration. Here are some clues as to how the spelling of Croatian surnames are changed into English (atleast in my case): "k" in croatian often becomes "c" in english. "?" or "?" become "ch". "?" becomes "g" or "j". "j" becomes "y". For example, many Croatian surnames end in "li?" or "vi?" which become "lich" or "vich".
