Hi, Novosibirsrk is very famous for optical and engineering works and produces some very high quality lenses and optical mirrors for cameras,telescopes ,microscopes and specialist scientific equipment. It has the biggest theatre building in Russia and one of the biggest railway stations. I have an original 2.5"TAL and a TAL1 4.5" telescope which were made there by the Novosibirsk Optical Institute and they perform very well. Nice to hear from you. There must be hundreds of amateur astronomers like myself who would love to visit your fine city.
