what are the advantages and disadvantages of puerto rico becoming a state HELLO!!!
I cant believe noone said a Disadvantage of losing the culture!! Look at Hawaii! Hawaii was forced to change their language to english & cater to the americans that came & built all over their beautiful island. Right now Hawaii is so outragelouly expensive. & who can afford to live there? Only rich americans, the native hawaiins do not live very well, most are poor. The same thing will happen to PR! It is so not worth it to be forced to speask english & abandoned spanish, pay federal taxes & property taxes(b/c PR will do what every state does) & give up the beautiful culture. Believe me its way more disadvantages. The US already forced enough on PR. People think the US is so great but its not. It didnt even make the top 10 places to live. US doesnt take care of PR now, what makes u think they will if it becomes a state. The US pharmacuetical companies are only in PR b/c its a benefit to them, but now they are all closing up. PR people need to step up & create their own companies & get self sufficient b/c the US doesnt care. Sorry give me thumbs down, but this is my opinion.
