Puerto Rico: Do you think PR will be pushed into statehood b/c of Gov Acevedo's Indicment?
I just heard that Governor Anibal Acevedo Vila was arrested on indictment charges. He was up for re-election & he was supporting the commonwealth status. Now that he will be out does this mean his opponent who favors statehood will win?? & if he wins, then he will push us into statehood right? What do you think of this?
------------------------------------
I am very against PR becoming a state. I would like to see the commonwealth status improved or become independent. If you disagree & you want to know why I feel this way then you an read my reasoning here:
He has not been arrested yet, he will submit himself to the authorities tomorrow (Friday) morning. --- Due to the indictment he is expected to be replaced by another candidate. The names that are commented to replace him include actual Caguas, PR major William Miranda Marin and a current candidate for Senator at Large who was formerly the Secretary of the Consumer Affairs Department.
Luis Fortu?±o, candidate from PNP party was expected to win over Anibal Acevedo Vila (AAV); and is highly probable that would defeat more easily William Miranda Marin. Against the other candidate the election may be more close, but still I think Fortu?±o will win. --- Fortu?±o will push for statehood no matter what happens with AAV. He would push for it even if the FBI dropped the investigation and no charges were found/applied.
