Suggestions on staying in italy for 6 months?

i'm 16 and recently came back from italy..i was thinking about staying in italy for 6 months to a year .. in a couple of years time that is..
does anyone have any suggestions on where to live.. i was thinking milan or rome.. and where i could stay.. or job suggestions... just any help??
You can't just show up in Italy and stay for longer than 3 months. You have some preparation work to do in your couple of years. Job prospects are better in northern Italy, but you'll need to have a skill set to qualify for a position - there's already a large pool of unskilled workers. You need to think about what kind of a job you want and then do some research to find out where those jobs might be. For example, if you're interested in design & manufacturing of medical equipment, there is a concentration of businesses in Emilia Romagna in and around Mirandola.

Australia and the US are two of the harder places to move to Italy from. Unless you're independently wealthy, you'll need to get a work visa. To get the visa, you have to have a job already lined up and the proper paperwork from the company. You cannot apply for the visa while you're in Italy. Check with the Italian consulate in Australia for requirements for applying for a visa.

It's a lot of preparation and effort to make the move, but it is worth it. I've been living about two hours north for the past 8 years.
