What is the night life like in Santiago Chile? Are discos or cafes more popular, or both?

Santiago's night life is great. I lived there for 3 years and the best areas to go at night and have a great time are Bellavista (bohemian area) and Providencia. Lots of discos, pubs, restaurants, etc. There is also a very nice area which is quite popular now which is Borderio. It has many restaurants and lounges and pubs. There are others cafes popular amongst the gentlemen which are called cafe con piernas which is a cafe where girls serve coffee wearing very short mini skirts.
If you are looking for a more posh, quiet area, then go to the restaurants at Bosque Norte and Isidora Goyenechea.
