...you remember where you were, who you were with and what you were doing at the time?
Without a doubt, the World Trade Centre scenario. We were on the farm waiting for the dog trainer to continue training our 8 dogs to attack any intruders on the property. And I heard it on the radio, then we had to switch on the TV, and listened to CNN over and over and over again. I really took a while to sink in. Then I tried to explain to our worker what had just happened, but it was beyond his powers of imagination, especially as it was his tshayela time, and all he could think of was his dop.
For me, this changed the way I thought about certain (religious) groups on our planet. It sort of shattered my sense of security, it was bad enough trying to cope with the incessant burglaries, and the murder of 2 of our neighbours, and BANG, suddenly the whole world was turned upside down.
