When should i buy the air ticket for italy?

i live in beijing, and on june the 29th i'm going to italy, milan. as there aint any direct flights i'll use lufthansa so that we'll have a stop in frankfurt......
so i leave on the 29th and i'll come back to beijing at the end of august....
when do you think i should book the air ticket? is may or june too late?? please give me some info about it!
