Where in Bangalore is this place called "Komarmangalam"?How far from the airport is it?

Koramangala ( No "m" at the end and it Is not "Komara..." ) is an upscale area in South Bangalore known as a software hub.

With regard to distance from airport -- google map shows it to be pretty close east of the area --

Here's what a blogger says :-
"The distance from our house in Koramangala to Bangalore Airport, is hardly 10 minutes as the crow flies. But to drive on Bangalore's infamous potholed roads (if one can call them roads) and weave through chaotic traffic jams, the journey could take anywhere from 20 minutes to 20 years. Some never make it and miss their flights...."

Koramangala is an area of Bangalore, capital city of Karnataka, India. Situated in the south-east of the city, it was not too long ago, a sought after residential locality with its wide boulevards and posh bungalows. It now finds itself at the focal point of many busy main roads, notably the Intermediate Ring Road (linking the Airport Road with Hosur Road and Electronics City), Sarjapur Road (leading to the Outer Ring Road, and beyond) and 80 Feet Road (leading to Viveknagar and MG Road at the centre of Bangalore).

Divided into 8 Blocks, the 3rd and 7th Blocks are more commercial than the others, with all major banks and finance houses including Axis bank, ICICI bank, HDFC bank and SBI having their branches.

Koramangala is also home to some prestigious institutions like the St. John's Medical College, Jyoti Nivas College, Indian Institute of Astrophysics among others and companies like Cherytech India.

Several software companies are located in Koramangala. To mention a few: Infosys, Wipro, Siemens VDO, Microland, Rational Software Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd. Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Tricon Infotech Pvt. Ltd ,Robert Bosch, Mindtree, Lucent Technologies,Interra systems, Tavant Technologies, Subex Azure and others. See comprehensive list of software companies in Koramangala.

Koramangala currently boasts having The Forum, one of the city's biggest shopping malls, and Raheja Arcade, a big shopping *** office complex. A large number of restaurants, relatively upscale houses and apartment complexes and a number of Indian and multi-national software companies distinguish Koramangala from other parts of the city. It hosts luxury apartments like Prestige Acropolis, Raheja Residency and National Games Housing Complex.

It is notorious for its roads, most of which were 'dug up' for renovation. The crime rate has increased considerably over the past few years. Though the civic authorities are trying hard to cope with the unprecedented stress of improvising the infrastructure, a lot needs to be done.
